Before and afters
(Rec.709 vs Cinecell 01)
The node tree
Cinecell 01 provides a “CST in” node allowing you to bring any camera profile into DaVinci Wide Gamut where the powergrade does its work. The node tree has your basics like balance, contrast and exposure. As well as few additions like the “BP Clean” node (Black Point Clean) allowing you to dial in your tones.
The film node
The film compound node is where a lot of the magic happens. It offers prebuilt 35mm and 16mm emulation compound nodes as well as highlight compression, black fade and warm white point adjustments giving you endless options for how you want to dial in your film look.
The 35mm and 16mm compound nodes include the your familiar grain, halation, glow, blur and dust OFX.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. The CST node at the very beginning of the node tree is used to bring any camera profile into DaVinci Wide Gamut Intermediate. This essentially just brings you camera’s footage into a much wider colorspace allowing you to play around.
-
That is due to the film compound node. To access the OFX used in the film node, you do need to have the studio version of DaVinci Resolve. This doesn’t mean you can’t use the powergrade, it just means you’ll have to find another method to add those film emulation OFX or purchase the studio version of Resolve.
-
This powergrade is only intended to work with DaVinci Resolve.
